Everything you need for exhibit prep

Select your files, choose your options, and hit Start. Exhibit Helper has been tested on files with inconsistent naming, rotated pages, scanned documents, missing exhibits, and duplicate content introduced at every stage of case preparation. Every edge case that surfaces in actual trial prep has been accounted for.

Preview and Adjust Stamping

Before processing, open a live preview of exactly how every label, Bates number, and page number will appear on every page. Drag any label to reposition it. Resize it. Use Shift+click to move or resize a label independently on a single page without affecting the rest. All adjustments carry through to the final output exactly as shown in the preview.

Exhibit Stamping

Stamps each PDF with a professional exhibit label in a consistent location. Reviewers always know exactly where to look. Every stamp lands in the correct position and orientation, even on rotated pages, and sits behind a knockout box so it never bleeds into underlying text or images. Supports both trial and deposition label formats with customizable colors.

Exhibit Slips

Generates and inserts a professional cover page (exhibit slip) at the front of each document, numbered or lettered sequentially from any starting point you choose.

Bates Numbering

Adds Bates stamps to every page across your entire exhibit set with configurable prefix, starting number, digit padding, and placement. A knockout box behind every stamp keeps it clean and legible no matter what's on the page underneath.

Page Numbering

Adds exhibit-style page numbers (e.g. 1-1, 1-2 or A-1, A-2) to each document, restarting at page 1 for every exhibit. Every page is independently identifiable at trial or deposition.

PDF Sanitization

Strips metadata and other identifying information from PDFs before production. A quick way to clean documents before sending to opposing counsel or filing with the court.

Duplicate Detection

Performs a two-layer scan using text content and visual image comparison to catch duplicates even in scanned documents with no extractable text. Detects duplicate files, repeated pages within the same exhibit, and duplicate pages across different exhibits. Generates a plain-English report with review checkboxes before you stamp anything. If you provide your file naming convention, the report uses your actual exhibit numbers.

TrialDirector Renaming

Renames your files to EX_001, EX_002 or EX_00A, EX_00B, etc. starting from any exhibit number or letter you choose. The naming format is designed to generate properly formatted barcodes when uploaded to TrialDirector.

Fix Page Orientation

Automatically detects and corrects rotated pages before stamping. Every exhibit label, Bates number, and page number lands in the right place and reads right-side up, regardless of how the original file was saved.

Pick What You Run

Every option is a checkbox. Run everything together or pick only what you need. Exhibit Helper doesn’t ask people to be more careful. It removes the need for the manual work that causes errors in the first place.

Exhibit Gap Check

Scans your file set and flags any gaps in the exhibit sequence before you begin processing. A missing Exhibit 14 shouldn't surface for the first time during cross-examination. Provide your file naming convention and the app identifies the exhibit number from each file name automatically.

Label from File Name

Reads exhibit labels directly from your existing file names using the naming convention you specify, so you don’t have to renumber or rename anything before stamping. Useful when files have already been organized by a paralegal or produced by opposing counsel.

Built to perform under real litigation conditions.

Exhibit prep errors don't happen because attorneys are careless. They happen at 2am the night before trial. Exhibit Helper has been tested on files with inconsistent naming conventions, rotated pages, scanned documents with no extractable text, intentionally missing exhibit numbers, and duplicate content introduced at every stage of case preparation.

The result is a tool that handles what attorneys actually encounter: stamps bleeding into document text, Bates numbers in the wrong orientation, duplicate exhibits that slipped through manual review, gaps in exhibit sequences nobody caught until cross-examination. Exhibit Helper addresses all of it automatically, consistently, and in minutes.

This is a standard macOS Gatekeeper warning for apps from independent developers. Right-click (or Control-click) the app icon and select "Open" from the menu. You will see the same warning with an "Open" button. Click it. You only need to do this once. After that the app opens normally.
Yes, completely safe. This is a standard Windows SmartScreen warning that appears for new software from independent developers. It does not mean the app is unsafe. Click "More info" then "Run anyway" to proceed. This warning disappears as more users install the app over time.
Exhibit Helper was built by a practicing litigation attorney who got tired of doing exhibit prep by hand. Every feature in the app comes from a real pain point in actual case preparation.
